Despite appearances, this shot was taken from the ground, at the Sywell 2024 Air Show.
This Spitfire is a Mk Vc, serial no. EE602. From 1937, gaps were left in the blocks of serial numbers allocated, so that the enemy could not determine the strength of the RAF just from the serial numbers.
This aircraft was sponsored by ex-pat Brits working for the Uruguayan Railway. Anyone could raise money for all or parts of a Spitfire - if you could donate the notional cost of an entire aircraft, £5,000 (~£250,000 in 2024), you could have your name painted on the side.
I am quite happy with the resolution in this picture - some of the small lettering on the plane is legible. Just above the right arm of the V, there is a hatch with "W/T or ballast" stencilled on it.
At the time, radio sets were known as "W/T" for "Wireless Telegraph". They were large and heavy items, so if the radio was not fitted for some reason, a mass of equivalent weight had to be installed to maintain the balance of the aircraft. There was also room for a First Aid kit behind the door - presumably for use after a crash landing.
