In June, after almost 10 years, I finally returned to Tenerife to visit and photograph some beautiful spots that I had only seen briefly or during the day last time.
On my first day, it started raining right away. But the good thing about Tenerife is that there is often nice weather somewhere else on the island ;-) So, I headed straight to Teide. The clouds that day were just as I had hoped, but unfortunately, the high clouds disappeared towards the evening. Nevertheless, the sunset high above the clouds with a view of Teide was incredibly beautiful.
This view had been on the top of my wishlist for a long time, and I'm happy that it finally worked out :-)

This week we experienced a Level 3 thunderstorm situation in Germany, and the strongest supercell happened to sweep across our region. As beautiful as this cloud may seem, its power was truly destructive. Our city of Kassel suffered greatly from the intense rain and hail, which were unlike anything I've experienced before.

I've been fascinated by astronomy since childhood, and my love for photography actually began with my first attempts in astrophotography. Even though I've mainly focused on regular photography in recent years, astrophotography has always fascinated me. After experimenting with my normal camera equipment, I finally took the plunge and upgraded to proper astrophotography equipment :-)
Unfortunately, clear nights have been relatively rare in the past weeks, so I could be active in only two recent nights. Nevertheless, it was enough to finish my first photo.
The photo shows the Elephant's Trunk Nebula (IC 1396) in the constellation Cepheus. This emission nebula was formed by the interaction of young stars with the surrounding interstellar gas. It got its name because of its distinctive shape, which resembles a curved trunk.

The Fanal Forest on Madeira, oh wow what a magical place with all these old and beautiful trees within a gorgeous mood. I was lucky that morning when the clouds broke up for a few minutes and the morning light was shining through the trees creating these mystical sun rays.

A beautiful golden sunrise photographed on Madeira. I really fell in love with these mountain landscapes that can be seen from the top of the Portuguese island and the moment when the first sunlight of the day hits the colorful nature up there.
