The actual tower is not a water tower but it is built upon a water reservoir. The tower is an observation tower and it was built to provide a point for viewing the city for the citizens.

The Vasastan district in Göteborg has a lot of nice and interesting buildings and façades. And on the main street, Vasagatan there are many cafes and restaurants.

Trädgårdsföreningen is a very nice park and garden right in the center of the city. Closest tramstops are Kunsportsplatsen (for the West entrance) and Centralstationen (Central station, for the North entrance).
They have a rich rose section (in the Swedish summer - June-August) and many beautiful tulips (in the Swedish spring - April-May).
