Blowholes are formed by erosion. Blowhole is cut as sea caves grow landwards and upwards into vertical shafts and expose themselves towards the surface, which can result in blasts of water from the top of the blowhole. The pounding waves eventually break through creating a chimney forcing the waves out the top.
If you’re not sure-footed parts of the trail can be challenging. Some jets can approach 50+ feet and if you’re close enough you can feel the ground tremble beneath your feet as water is blasted skywards. Do not get too close to the blowhole you could get sucked inside.
