Orion is one year old male.

Orion, sometimes subtitled The Hunter, is a prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous, and most recognisable constellations in the night sky. ts name refers to Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology.

Orion is a 1 year old “Bengal Tiger”. Actually he is a Bengal Tiger and a Siberian Tiger. The zoo where he was born breed white tigers -- so Orion is actually white tiger who came out orange!

For those who do not know --

Breeding of white tigers will often lead to inbreeding (as the trait is recessive) of brother to sister or father to daughter, generation after generation after generation. Such inbreeding has led to white tigers having a greater likelihood of being born with physical defects, such as clubfeet, cleft palates and scoliosis. Furthermore, white tigers are prone to having crossed eyes. Even apparently healthy white tigers generally do not live as long as their orange counterparts.

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) recognizes that white tigers should not be bred and recommends AZA accredited zoos not to breed any more of them. The leader of the tiger Species Survival Plan states openly that the only reason people breed white tiger is because people will pay to see white tigers.
