Another in my effort to learn from capturing iconic locations, aka reverse engineering.

This location is a few miles outside of Marble, Colorado down a Jeep trail. Outside of the photographic aspects, this was a cool place to hang out while I waited for the light to come around. When the front was finally lit, the light was extremely bright and took some work in post to smooth things out.

A pre-dawn image of the Maroon Bells. First of one or two images from this particular morning.

I took the week off to try to get some fall shots. Turns out, I was a little early but there were a fair amount of golden leaves at higher elevations. Weather and the birth of a niece drove me back to town.

Coot Lake is North of Boulder, CO, directly West of the IBM campus. It's a nice place to take an easy walk and you can access the area around Boulder Reservoir as well.

This is my first attempt at creating a vertorama. It's tricky business, as it turns out.

Update: I reprocessed this image and replaced it.

I think I keep going back to Coot Lake because I work until I notice the light fading then realize I haven't taken a picture in days so I make a mad dash at the last minute.

This is an exposure blend of the -2/+2 of a 3 shot bracket layered with the 0.
