Done last night (1/27/2011) at the Art Society of Kingston NY life drawing session, organized by my pal Jim Stevenson. Pencil on paper, 12" x 9".
When you only have 2 minutes to try & capture the essence of a figure, it really makes you focus on the basics & there is no time to try anything elaborate. A useful skill.
This was the best of the 6 2-minute drawings I did. The number 5 in the lower right denotes its place in the sequence.
I even like the way the figure reaches out of the frame...accidental, of course, but I'll keep it.
By the way, I put this & a couple of the more finished drawings on my blog here: billayton.blogspot.com/2011/01/some-new-life-drawings.html

Done last night, Oct 14, in Kingston NY at the Art Society of Kingston life drawing open session, run by my friend Jim Stevenson. Pencil on paper, 12" x 9". I think this was a 20-minute pose (maybe 10, can't remember). It's been about 3 years since I did actual life drawing, so it was good to get back into practice.
