After a foggy climb up onto Meall Nan Tarmachan (Hill of the ptarmigans) (1043 m), and along the Tarmachan Ridge yesterday, I was greeted, as I ate my lunch on Meall Garbh, to a break in the weather. The sun broke through and behind me a full fog bow, Brocken spectre and glory. At one point there were multiple glories too. I stayed on but alas stratus clouds came in in the afternoon carrying some drizzle.

Sunday was a day of amazing skies. I had planned on an early rise and a Munro but my body didn’t, so I decided on a local sunrise which was fabulous. I had not however anticipated the sunset to be even more amazing. I decided to re-shoot a composition I wasn’t quite happy with from a few weeks ago. The red skies lasted for an hour and a half. I stayed until the winds kicked up and it was too dark to see the water I as standing in. One of the most colourful sunsets I have ever seen.

I managed to get up Ben A' An after work the other day (nearly had to run it). I was blessed with some lovely late light as a gap opened up in the clouds to the south as a snow flurry blew through. It was a pretty bitter wind.
