Bamburgh Castle was a 5 minute drive from where we were staying. I have put a couple of photos in the comments below, the first showing a shot of it taken from the beach across the road from where we were staying (literally 3 minutes walk). The original castle was built by the Normans. We didn't go in due to the Covid situation. Glorious looking place though, don't you think?

The Northumbria coastline is known for its sand dunes. The sand is so soft so it makes for hard work to walk up them. We were walking around the area of Bamburgh where the wild flowers were in profusion

We went out on a boat trip whilst we were on holiday. The Farne Island, off the coastline near to where we were staying, are habitat to lots of birds, including puffins. We were not able to land because of Covid-19 but did sale around the islands. We were so delighted to see lots of puffins as the skipper of the boat had said that the 'bird' season there was all but over. This little one had a mouth full of sand eels. I was delighted to be able to get a shot of it, whilst bobbing up and down in a boat

These two had decided to go 'off road' and along the coastline near Dunstanburgh Castle. They soon decided that walking on the rocks wasn't for them and headed back to the grass. I do know that there is a breed of sheep called North Ronaldsay, who live on the beach in the Orkney Island who live entirely on seaweed. Perhaps these two had heard of them and thought that they would give it a go
