When I posted a photo of earrings for the Smile on Saturday group last week, I mentioned that I have around 75 pairs. I was asked whether I wear a different pair every day and I said yes which isn't quite true as I tend to match them up with what I am wearing and some are only suitable for evenings out. Kerri mentioned that if she worked with me, she would check out my earrings every day to see what I was wearing, so it gave me an idea to post one photo every week of all my different earrings (this will take a couple of years - lol). I will start with my 'Turaida Castle' earrings. I bought these in 2004 on a visit to Latvia when we visited Turaida Castle. Construction of the castle commenced in 1204 and the earrings are a copy of the same earrings worn in the 13th century, They are like little bells and I wear them quite a lot as they are unobtrusive and go with almost everything

These are a favourite of mine as I wear quite a bit of green these days: funny, as I used to hate it when I was younger. I have had them for many years and I cannot remember where I bought them although it would have been in an antique market somewhere in England. I love vintage earrings, especially Czech glass which I think these are. They are probably circa 1920/1930. If you enlarge the photo you will see some enamel work on the small bead. Yes, definitely one of my favourite pairs

These sweet little cat earrings were given to me by my Flickr friend Zsaj when she was over visiting England from the US 4 years ago. I had a wonderful time showing her and her husband around the New Forest. I wear these quite a lot: in fact I wore them only yesterday

These earrings are very heavy and so I don't wear them any more as they pull on my earlobes (who knew that would happen as you get older). They are being "modelled" by a wooden mask, from Indonesia, which is about 30 years old. And no, I have never been to Indonesia, but many years ago I used to work for The British Council looking after overseas students, during their stay in England, and would quite often be given gifts from visiting students.
