We have to decided not to go into the Forest but to walk locally. If the selfish people don't stop congregating if parks and beaches we will be stopped going out for any walk like several European countries.

We live in a small town which lies on the edge of the New Forest National Park and is the last town before you get to the city of Southampton. We live on a busy road, but across from us is a park which leads to a walk along a tidal river and a local sailing club. This morning was glorious and perfect for a walk. Being early meant we only met the dog walkers who normally walk that route so we were able to keep our distance. This picture is deceiving as it looks almost Mediterranean but if you were to look to the right of this scene you will see a container depot (see below). If you follow the water further along (Goatee Beach) you will see the docks of Southampton across the water. I work in Southampton and the road I take goes across the water along a bridge. At the moment I pass all the big cruise ships which are all moored along the dockside with nowhere to go.

I hope you enjoy my walk

Firstly, my house as never been so clean. I actually vacuumed my light shades on Saturday:-)) Pulling everything out from all the nooks and crannies has been interesting in more ways than one (who knew there could be so much dust in the wine crate - lol I 'found' my collection of match boxes. All from a time when people smoked and restaurant and bars used them as a kind of advertising.

We have the Savoy Tivoli in San Francisco (don't remember it at all)
I do remember Jekyll and Hyde in New York as it had a secret door to the toilets
Who could forget the Rainbow Bar where I had my very first ...........and last martini

Happy memories indeed

Walking into the living room, all I could see were Milu's legs totally stretched out. It really made me laugh. She is one of the most relaxed cats we have when it comes to sleeping

This is the Babycham mascot which stands outside a cider making company in Shepton Mallet. We pass it every time we travel to my sister's (won't be doing that for a while!). It has become really worn over the years, but there it is still standing.

Babycham is the trade name of a sparkling perry invented by Francis Showering who used to own the brewery in Shepton Mallet in Somerset, It was very popular in the 60's and 70s - not sure that you can even get it anymore. Today the Company makes fruit ciders aimed at the younger generation

..........and will have to be until further notice. All around the world we are being told to social distance which means no travel for the foreseeable future. We were planning a tour of southern Germany again. We went there 7 years ago and had one of our most memorable holidays meeting a Flickr friend in Germany and one in Holland. We have visited Italy several times through meeting someone through Flickr. And I also visited a Flickr friend in Paris. I have had two Flickr friends from the US visit the New Forest, one from the north of England and another from Dublin but now we must be content with staying at home and only seeing far flung places on-line. Think how lucky we are that we have this wonderful community
