There are always lots of waterfowl down at Keyhaven. I took a photo of a duck which I didn't recognise and 'googled' it to find it was a teal. This was another one I didn't recognise and assumed it was a female teal. Now I am not so sure as looking on the good old web it looks a lot like a garganey duck. Can someone out there let me know what this is please?

We have been walking around Keyhaven a lot recently. It is a beautiful place with the sea on one side and a nature reserve on the other. It is a bird watchers paradise. Phill and I know very little about birds but it didn't take us long to figure out what the three 'big birds' were. I wonder what gave them away? - lol They have been present for the past three weeks and they stay right away from the shore so it is difficult to see them unless you have a long zoom. In all the years we have been going to Keyhaven, it is the only time we have ever seen them there. They appear to have flown the 'coop' now. I wonder where they go to

The egret and spoonbill were 'fishing' in the same waters. The egret got a bit tetchy with the spoonbill at one point and there was a little bit of flapping on the egret's part but then they carried on 'fishing' together peacefully.

We went to a sculpture park on Saturday and there were a couple of great crested grebes on the lake doing the dance of 'luuuurv'. This one really got carried away.

Not only spring flowers popping up all over the place; the geese at Cadman's Pool were making a lot of commotion on Sunday. They were definitely acting as if Spring was in the air
