Two little tabby kittens arrived a short while ago. Pixie gave birth in my wardrobe where she had been visiting frequently, so I had put a box with a towel in there for her and the good girl, that she is, went straight in. Babies were born within an hour. Pixie is purring away: they all look fit and well

This is one of the Pixettes pushing under mum's paw. I am not taking too many photos at the moment as they are so tiny at 3 days old. I can't wait until their eyes open and we can start seeing them properly develop. They are still in our bedroom and Pixie woke us up at 5.15am this morning wanting to be fed. It is a really complicated situation at the moment as we have to keep her locked in a room because of leaving the cat flap open for the other cats to get in and out (we can't get her spayed until she has finished nursing the kittens) When we are in the house we shut the cat flap and let her have the run of the house (we can let Kaiser and Ray out through the door). Heaven knows how we will cope once the kittens are mobile. Our house is tiny and there isn't a lot of leeway as to where they can go and be safe. The bedroom is out because if they go under the bed we would never find them: the spare room is used by the other cats as their sleeping space, during the day: so the only safe place is the living room. A friend has lent me a cage and we will utilise that. Milu tried to come into the bedroom yesterday evening and Pixie chased her out and down the stairs, so we are having to be very careful with the other cats but not letting them lose their places and attention in the household. Only another six weeks to go!!

Well they are a week old today. They have got slightly larger but nothing else has changed although Pixie is getting a little bored now. It is going to be tricky keeping her indoors for another 5 weeks, but until she is spayed outside is a no go area. Once their eyes have opened (should be in the next few days) we will move them from the nesting place to the living room. The bedroom holds all sorts of challenges ( under the bed, under the dresser - you get the picture. The living room has fewer places for them to get 'lost'. So far they look exactly like Pixie. We will see what develops over the coming weeks.

Eight days old and one of them has opened their eyes (bet it's female - lol). I can tell them apart from the 'M' on their foreheads: this one is more like an 'H'
