Today I 'celebrate' three years on Flickr and what a great three years. I have met some wonderful people on this site - and I have to say some completely loopy ones (least said about them the better - lol). It has made me open my eyes more to the everyday things around me. It has taken me to places I could only ever dream of seeing. The vast beauty of Canada, the pretty little cottages in Carmel, the colourful sights of Brazil all there for me to see through the eyes of the people who live there. I have shared my Flickr friends' upsets and happiness and I have also been fortunate enough to have met some of them in person. Who knows this year I might meet some more:-) A few of my photos have even been successful - I was approached by a publisher last year for the use of one of my photos on a book cover - typically though it was one of the one's where the original had been 'lost' when my computer crashed and died a couple of years ago (a lesson for us all there I think!!)

Anyway, the success or not of my photos is not the reason why I still continue with Flickr - let's face it if that were the case, I should be long gone - ha ha ha

So here is to the next few years!!

I've made some really good friends during my time on Flickr. Last year I met my lovely friend Claudia in person and I know our friendship will continue even though she is in Italy and I am in England. I have spoken on the phone to Eva in New York and Doris in Ohio. I am really hoping to meet a couple of other Flickr friends this year - you know who you are!!

Flickr has shown me wonderful sights that I would never have otherwise seen and It has introduced to such wonderful people.

Here's to continuing friendships in 2009!!

This is a photo of me that is hanging on the wall at home. It was a tiny picture my father took and Phill blew it up and framed it for a suprise. See how dandy I look in my Sunday best:-) The strange composition is because I couldn't be bothered to take it out of its frame and scan it, so there you have me peeking into view:-))

For all you young 'uns we lived our lives in black and white in the late 50's /early 60's ha ha!!

Sorry to say I'm actually not into Christmas in a big way (bah humbug) and so I don't have any real Christmassy looking photos........so here is one of me from last year at our Company's Christmas party. The lovely lady on the right is someone I know who happened to be waitressing that evening and we both wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2007!
