I had the day off work today and we decided to take the Government up on their guidelines of being able to drive a short distance but only if the walk is longer than the drive. The coast is 15 minutes drive from us and we walked for over an hour, so I think that counts. We were there at 8.00 am and it was empty. On the walk back we did see an elderly couple and a woman walking a dog. It struck me just how quiet it was: no boats, no sea birds, just the sound of the gentle waves lapping and the early morning song birds in the nearby trees. It was so warm with absolutely no breeze at all even at that time of the morning. I do realise how lucky we are to live near so really pretty places and to be able to go out for exercise. The rest of the morning was spent clearing out my wardrobe and then sitting in the garden the entire afternoon doing nothing but enjoying the sunshine and listening to music

I was sitting at the PC with the radio on when Kaiser joined me. He obviously enjoyed the sound of John Martyn playing as he started doing his chill out paw work. He always does this when he is feeling relaxed.

We are off to see the Bootleg Beatles tonight playing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrating 50 years of Abbey Road and Let It Be. I think we are in for a good evening.

Happy Furry Friday

Wishing you a chilled out weekend like Kaiser's

Whenever I am working on my photos Pixie jumps up in front of the screen and watches the cursor moving about. Last week I gave up and put up some cat videos for her to watch. I was editing the video when up she jumped again, so I couldn't resist videoing her watching her own video. Already put this on FB but I know some of my contacts don't subscribe so just for you a few seconds of entertainment for Miss Pixie Dott.

Happy Furry Friday everyone

No plans for the weekend so we shall see where the mood takes us.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy weekend

I heard a noise and came running to find Kaiser chasing his tail: I was just able to get a small capture of him just before he spotted me and like all cats pretended he was just having a wash and was not being silly at all. Sorry about the quality but I had to share this. Kaiser has become very playful lately, not sure what has brought this on. He chases through the house like a wild thing. He is the noisiest cat we have ever had, probably because he is so big - I call him BFL (big fat lump) when he sits on the arm of the chair and his body oozes over me. This basket is Milu's but Kaiser has tried to take it over recently which is like trying to squeeze a size 7 foot into a size 5 shoe.

Happy Furry Friday everyone

Wishing you all a playful weekend

.....like watching the waves crash against the rocks. For those of you who do not live near the sea, I thought you might like to a sample of one of my favourite little things. This is Portland Bill in Dorset: one of Phill and mine's favourite places. It is just under two hours drive from us, but we go there quite a few times a year, preferring it in the winter when it is more dramatic. Believe it or not we have seen it a lot worse than this. You can see the two gulls just sitting there, not matter how high the waves roll.
