Hundreds of miles out to sea off the south coast of New Zealand. These seas turned into a 5-6 metre waves later that night. It also meant we were not able to sail into the Fiordlands the following day, due to dangerous seas, which was a real bummer. You really wouldn't have wanted to be in a small boat out at sea that night...
