Built by the Normans in the 12th Century includes an unusual font, a tower with a gabled roof and a leper's window through which people with infectious diseases could see the altar.

The whole building retains traces of the whitewash that once covered Vale churches in former centuries and is a Grade 1 listed building.

The Nave was completed in the 12th century and still contains the rectangular shape which is typical of Norman Churches.

The Norman stone font which is very large for such a small church is positioned in the centre of the Nave.

The arch and red curtain at the end of the Nave leads to the Tower.

The Chancel is the section of the church where the choir used to sit. It is separated from the nave by a step which is quite typical. The altar is usually at the eastern end of the chancel as it is here.

On the left you can see the Reredos. This tapestry normally stands, or is hung, behind the altar. In this case it is on the left due to the low window.

The floor of the Chancel has a similar chevron design to that of the Norman Arch we looked at yesterday. The floor also has a carved stone dating from the 13th century. It is considered to be the tomb-stone of a former Parish Priest from the carving on the stone of a Bible and Chalice signifying Word and Sacrament.
