Rather irrelevant sign as you can just pop over the gate if you wanted to walk around after closing!!

Ogmore Castle is situated near Ogmore-by-Sea, south of Bridgend in South Wales. It was initially constructed in 1116 by William de Londres, one of the Twelve Knights of Glamorgan, as part of the Norman invasion of Wales.

It is one of three castles built by the Normans in the area at the time, the others being Coity Castle and Newcastle, Bridgend.

Ogmore Castle is situated on the south bank of the River Ewenny shortly before it joins with the River Ogmore.

The castle was in use until the 19th century for a range of purposes, including a court of justice and a prison, but is now a substantial set of remains and local landmark. A popular set of stepping stones cross the river near to the castle site and a footpath leads to the village of Merthyr Mawr.

Ogmore Castle is next to the River Ewenny near Ogmore-by-sea in South Wales.

I processed this a while ago with Photoshop but the resultant jpeg was not great. I tried again last week using a trial version of NX Capture. The resultant photo (above) is a lot better. I am in two minds about which application I should use going forward. For photos with strong highlight/shadow contrasts then NX Capture seems to be great using Adjust>Light>D-Lighting. I cannot generate the same results easily with Photoshop. However, for general shots that are 'busy' then Photoshop seems to provide better control over the photo component parts.
