I recently got some remote triggers for my flashes, and hot diggety damn, these things are so awesome to use. I didn't have anyone to photograph, and I didn't want to look like a total noob with the new gear anyway, so I practiced on myself. It was kind of difficult, but my camera will sync up with my iPhone, and this helps a lot with testing the lights and adjusting the composition and exposure. I'll be able to do some really cool stuff with the lights synced up with these solid remotes.

A couple weeks ago, I was really happy to finally receive an invitation for The Arcanum. My application was sent in several months ago, and I was kind of bummed that it took so long, but I'm in with a group of really cool people, and the leader of it is awesome. Our cohort has some weekly meet ups on Google +, and for the next one, we're all supposed to submit our photo which represents us the best. I thought about it for a day and wanted to make sure that it was something from Nevada because that's where I've lived for the past six years, and before that I was longing to move somewhere in the American West. So here it is... it was taken in 2009 during my first trip to Great Basin National Park.
