Thousands of people will visit Sedona's Cathedral Rock every weekend, but when I made this image at 4 AM, I had the location entirely to myself. The site is one of the vortex sites in Sedona where people supposedly receive special energies. This sixty second exposure also caught a couple meteors from the Quantrantid Meteor Shower that occurs every January.

It's been almost three years since I shot this little spot along the White Rim Trail, but I noticed the frames a few days ago and thought I'd try to use seven of them together in an HDR process.

This is definitely one of the most frightening places where I've photographed. During the sunset prior to the morning that I made this image, there were 50 mile-per-hour wind gusts, and Torroweap doesn't have any guard rails... just a few thousand foot drop to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and my favorite American artist, the Colorado River.

This is Lee's Ferry, Arizona, and back before the Colorado River was damned, this was pretty much the only safe place to cross it between Moab, Utah, and Needles Arizona. It was also the location of one of the first Mormon settlements near the Grand Canyon called Lonely Dell Ranch.
