ex-DESR l2-6-0 steam loco No.461 approaches Maynooth along the banks of the Royal Canal with the RPSI (Railway Preservation Society of Ireland) Garret Fitzgerald Commemorative rail tour on May 5th 2012. She was already running 30 minutes late at this stage, and by the time she was back in Maynooth that evening, she'd have quadrupled that delay!
Garret Fitzgerald was a very well respected former Irish Toiseach (Prime Minister), who passed away last year. He was apparently a supporter of the RPSI, so they honoured him in the best way they could.
