Braunston in Northamptonshire is where the Oxford Canal meets the Grand Union Canal, which was once a vital part of England's infrastructure. It was a natural place for a boatyard, and a very large marina has now grown up around it. The bridge over the entrance to the marina was made by Horsely Ironworks. They specialised in making tow-path bridges, and there are two at Braunston which date from around 1830.
