Burdock is any of a group of biennial thistles in the genus Arctium, family Asteraceae. Native to the Old World, several species have been widely introduced worldwide.
Plants of the genus Arctium have dark green leaves that can grow up to 28" (71 cm) long. They are generally large, coarse and ovate, with the lower ones being heart-shaped. They are woolly underneath. The leafstalks are generally hollow. Arctium species generally flower from July through to October.
The prickly heads of these plants (burrs) are noted for easily catching on to fur and clothing (being the inspiration for Velcro), thus providing an excellent mechanism for seed dispersal. Burrs cause local irritation and can possibly cause intestinal hairballs in pets. However, most animals avoid ingesting these plants.
The roots of burdock, among other plants, are eaten by the larva of the Ghost Moth (Hepialus humuli). The plant is used as a food plant by other Lepidoptera including Brown-tail, Coleophora paripennella, Coleophora peribenanderi, the Gothic, Lime-speck Pug and Scalloped Hazel.

Die Filz-Klette oder Wollkopf-Klette (Arctium tomentosum) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung der Kletten (Arctium) in der Unterfamilie der Carduoideae innerhalb der Familie der Korbblütler (Asteraceae). Es ist eine zweijährige krautige Pflanze. Die Pflanzen wachsen meist sparrig verzweigt und erreichen Wuchshöhen von 50 bis 120 cm. Die Laubblätter sind auf der Unterseite mehr oder weniger dicht graufilzig.
Die Filz-Klette lässt sich von den anderen Kletten-Arten sofort durch die spinnwebartig wollig behaarten Blütenköpfchen unterscheiden. Die körbchenförmigen Blütenstände haben einen Durchmesser von etwa 2 cm und sind 3 cm hoch. Die rötliche oder weißliche Spitze der Hüllblätter der Köpfchen kann hakenförmig eingebogen oder auch gerade sein. In den Blütenkörben sind viele Röhrenblüten vorhanden. (Wikipedia)

Whenever I see a field with cornflowers or poppies my heart will go on. Since my childhood I I love the colorful fields.
It's too bad that more and more of these wonderful dabs of color disappear from our fields.

Wann immer ich mal wieder ein Feld mit Kornblumen oder Klatschmohn sehe geht mein Herz auf. Seit meiner Kindheit liebe ich ich die bunten Felder.
Es ist so bedauerlich, dass immer mehr dieser herrlichen Farbtupfer von den Feldern verschwinden.

Blowball: The parachutes of the dandelion always betray me into blowing.
By the way, do you know that a flower basket from a Dandelion have 200 - 400 parachutes, which go on a journey during good weather? With wind they can fly up to ten kilometers.

Pusteblume: Die Fallschirmchen des Löwenzahn verleiten mich doch immer wieder zum Pusten.
Übrigens, wußtet ihr, dass auf einem Blütenkorb 200 - 400 Fallschirme entstehen, die bei schönem Wetter auf die Reise gehen? Bei Wind können sie bis zu zehn Kilometer weit fliegen.
