A wedding kiss at a Malay wedding.
After putting the ring, it is customary for the groom to kiss the bride's forehead.
Though it is customary to shoot wide angle on this, I decided to frame the shot as is (no cropping at all). Well, apart from being too lazy to change lens to a wide angle lens, I wasn't the official photographer so I could shoot whatever I wanted. :)
Another thing, I forgot how did the background turn black because it wasn't black and I am sure that I didn't color it black.

The future...
There are many children at Killing Fields who would crowd visiting tourists. They would gather together, and say in a singsong way,
"1, 2, 3...Smile!!"
Sorry... I don't like taking posed shots...
My apologies.
Today, July 7th 2018, I'm reposting a photo from about 12 years ago (both shot and originally posted on flickr).
I shot this in Phnom Penh at the Killing Fields on my second trip to Cambodia. I've been to Cambodia thrice and interestingly with 3 different people from 3 different continents and all the trips took place in 2006.
I've never been back there since and I have no intention to return either as I would like to remember the country the way it was, before fast food and before obesity (which I think is there now although I don't think as much as elsewhere).
This shot is significant to me as it's the first shot I've taken that had truly increased my confidence in photography.
In fact, I consider this photo as one of my 25 best shots.

Explore... Interestingness....
I keep being haunted by these two words...
A very close friend once told me that the movie Terminal was all about waiting. So. I thought to myself "Why not post photos with waiting as the theme?"
So, the 4 photos in this series represent waiting.
What do you think?
Sept. 10: Today Explore makes me smile. Currently, this picture is at #4. Of course I want this to reach #1 as www.flickr.com/photos/azlijamil01/231592469/ did.

Touching lives through photography is what I aim to do. But, how could I touch lives if I couldn't reach them? What an uphill struggle!!!!! And I'm one step closer...
Thank you so much for visiting. :)
Best regards,
Azli

For the next few weeks I shall be bringing you images from my recent trip to Siem Riep Cambodia, home of the Angkor Wat.
I hope you like what I have to show...
I start my Siem Riep series with this image of a beggar I chanced across. Each time I look at this picture I couldn't help but wonder about the tough life this man has led... And if he ever laughed...
