They are among the many children who sell trinkets at various temples at Siem Riep. When I visited this particular temple, the children were playing a game where one would throw a ball and try to hit the other children who would try to evade the ball. This particular girl likes to jump. In fact, in this case, no ball was thrown and yet she still jumps...
It is really good to see these children being children :)

The caption below was written when I first posted this photo on February 25, 2007. I think I still am the same drama queen I was then. :-)

note: After this photo, I removed nearly all who made me contacts and hardly add any new contact for years. Recently, I made contact all those who have made me contact since I started flickr.
Honestly, it is impossible for me to visit all especially when I have limited internet time when I travel. I still try to visit.

I'M SORRY... I HAVE TO TAKE A BREAK FROM FLICKR!!!!!
If less than 20% of my 1,506 contacts decide to visit me, I shouldn't get upset, right??? Yet I keep asking myself "If they like my photos and made me contact, then why don't they visit?". Why??? I've commented on 10,302 pictures and definitely viewed a lot more!!!!
To the 253 who has taken the time to visit, comment and fave my last shot, thank you very much....
To all, have a great week ahead!!!

ps: This was shot before COLORS OF SIEM RIEP... FUN... (my most viewed shot!!). Don't think this shot would ever match the views the first shot received. Preceding is a variant of my most faved shot. In both cases I think the more recent shots are better than the predecessors.

He is a beggar at one of the temples. I don't think he was too happy to see the barrel of my lens..

The future...
There are many children at Killing Fields who would crowd visiting tourists. They would gather together, and say in a singsong way,
"1, 2, 3...Smile!!"
Sorry... I don't like taking posed shots...

My apologies.
Today, July 7th 2018, I'm reposting a photo from about 12 years ago (both shot and originally posted on flickr).
I shot this in Phnom Penh at the Killing Fields on my second trip to Cambodia. I've been to Cambodia thrice and interestingly with 3 different people from 3 different continents and all the trips took place in 2006.
I've never been back there since and I have no intention to return either as I would like to remember the country the way it was, before fast food and before obesity (which I think is there now although I don't think as much as elsewhere).
This shot is significant to me as it's the first shot I've taken that had truly increased my confidence in photography.
In fact, I consider this photo as one of my 25 best shots.
