Bikaner is [...] the most colorful fort of the state. It is adorned with beautiful tile work, walled paintings, intricate artwork on the walls and a lot of golden work

Maharaja Karan Singhji of Bikaner (1631-1669 A.D) was a great admirer and patron of indigenous art of exquisite nature. [...].. The maharaja invited an artist named Ali Raza and his family to Bikaner and granted him royal patronage and conferred the title of court artist on him. This resulted in the fabulous gold work in Karan Mahal and Anup Mahal at Fort, Bikaner.

This style of wall pillars and ceiling decoration caught on. Soon [...] the rich people of Bikaner also patronized this style of craftsmen to decorate their havelies.

Bikaner, Rajasthan Province, India.

The Taj Mahal lit. 'Crown of the Palace', is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the southern bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (reigned from 1628 to 1658) to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. [...] and was completed in [...] its entirety in 1653 at a cost estimated at the time to be around 32 million rupees, which in 2020 would be approximately 70 billion rupees (about U.S. $956 million).

The construction project employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects led by the court architect to the emperor, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.

The Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". It is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India's rich history. The Taj Mahal attracts 7–8 million visitors a year and in 2007, it was declared a winner of the New 7 Wonders of the World (2000–2007) initiative.

The Mandore garden, with its charming collection of temples and memorials, and its high rock terraces, is a major attraction in Marwar. Set around the old cremation ground, the gardens house the red sandstone Chhatris (cenotaphs) of many rulers of the erstwhile princely state of Marwar. [...].

Unlike the usual chhatri-shaped cenotaphs typical of Rajasthan, these cenotaphs were built along the lines of a Hindu temple, four stories high, with fine columns and an elegant spire, all in red sandstone.

Each cenotaph is unique and has a distinct architectural design. One cenotaph [...] was made almost entirely of jali (intricately carved stone work) making it appear like it was made of marble or wood rather than sandstone. [...].

The interiors of the cenotaphs are as beautifully decorated as the outside. Intricately carved columns with floral engravings are fine examples of the Hindu architecture found here. [...].

[For locals as well as tourists] Mandore Garden is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Jodhpur [6 km away]. Another popular attraction is the sight of langur monkeys running free among the Sandstone chhatris in this beautiful terrace hillside garden. www.remotetraveler.com/mandore-garden-jodhpur/
