... [k]nown as "The Path to the Sea", this is a beautiful 76-acre park located along the south shore just west of the famous Waikiki beach area. This beach is noted for its excellent swimming, surfing, and body boarding. There are also lovely shaded picnic facilities and grassy areas perfect for family outings.

One of my contacts (PAVDW) wondered what the photographer on the pier was seeing behind the lady in a red dress (see my previous post www.flickr.com/photos/artsylens/12898287803/ ). These images try to answer this question.

The most recent and breathtaking reconstruction is the 700 foot long Burrard Dry Dock Pier and offers stunning 360 degree views of the North Shore Mountains and the beautiful downtown skyline. It is the first time in 100 years that Lower Lonsdale has had access to this portion of the City's waterfront and is a wonderful tribute to the community's shipbuilding history.
