Hi everyone, can you guess what this is? This was supposed to be my Thursday's post . It was uploaded to Flickr but I forgot to post it as we left our hotel room

OK, I'll spill the beans: It is the glass roof of a restaurant/hotel atrium reflected in syrup. The green is a piece of parsley. Yes, it was a tasty, sweet breakfast. :-)

Yesterday was a full travel day as we drove back to Edmonton arriving home late last night. We had perfect weather, cold but sunny and the mountain scenery and wildlife sightings were simply spectacular.

Have a great day and thanks a million for stopping by.

Pollen sticking to a bee. Insects involuntarily transporting pollen from flower to flower play an important role in many plants' reproductive cycles.

Entomophilous (literally insect-loving) plants produce pollen that is relatively heavy, sticky and protein-rich, for dispersal by insect pollinators attracted to their flowers. Many insects and some mites are specialized to feed on pollen, and are called palynivores.

A few nights ago, I spotted this smiling pumpkin hanging above me on the wall in a restaurant in Ashland, Oregon, USA.

Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day (Canadian French: Jour de l'Action de grâce), occurring on the second Monday in October, is an annual Canadian holiday to give thanks at the close of the harvest season. Although the original act of Parliament references God and the holiday is celebrated in churches, the holiday is also celebrated in a secular manner.

On January 31, 1957, the Canadian Parliament proclaimed:

“ A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed … to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October. ”

Thanks for visiting!
