The Mystery of Aurillac - The Red Fishes Fountain

The two sisters were of noble family, false twins at birth and since then they were inseparable.
The mother died during childbirth, so they never knew her, perhaps because of that fact, the father never left them alone, even when they went to the Aurillac market.

One day they stopped at the fountain in front of Saint-Géraud abbey and decided to throw a coin in exchange for the fulfillment of a wish.
After doing so, a beggar passed by and asked them for coins, but they had already thrown them at the fountain.
One of the sisters feeling sorry for the man, has just withdrawn her coin, despite the fact that the other sister asked her not to, as the wish would not be fulfilled.
Then the Man thanked her and turned to the one who had given him the coin and said to her - Tomorrow when you come to the fountain you will find a red rose! Keep it close to your heart and you will find love!
The sisters ran out laughing as they went to home, but the words echoed through the rest of the afternoon and into the night.

The next day, at the same time, the two went to the fountain and there was a blood-red rose, shiny as a ruby.
But when she was going to catch it, the other sister stepped forward and picked up the rose and throwing it into the fountain, but when she did, the rose became a beautiful red fish.
Once again the sister tried to catch the fish but in her longing she ended up falling to the fountain, but it is at that moment that two beautiful young men appear on horseback and when they face the situation they quickly dismount and save her.

The sister all wet then says - After all I was right, you were wrong to withdraw the coin, only gave bad luck !
Then says the other with a smile on her face - You are wrong, in my wish i asked for both of us to be happy!

Then the two laughed while the young men introduced themselves, after all they were also fake twins.
Since that day there have always been red fishes in the fountain ... people say that they are the wishes of the two sisters!

O Mistério de Aurillac - A Fonte Dos Peixes Vermelhos

As duas irmãs eram de família nobre, falsas gémeas à nascença e desde o seu nascimento que eram inseparáveis.
A mãe morreu durante o parto, pelo que nunca a conheceram, em virtude talvez desse facto, o pai nunca as deixava sozinhas, nem quando iam ao mercado de Aurillac.
Um certo dia pararam junto à fonte em frente da Abadia de Saint-Géraud e resolveram lançar uma moeda em troca da concretização de um desejo.
Após o fazerem um pedinte passou e pediu-lhes umas moedas, mas elas já as tinham lançado à fonte.
Uma das irmãs com pena do homem, acabou por retirar a sua moeda, apesar da outra irmã lhe pedir que o não fizesse, pois o desejo assim não se concretizaria.
Então o Homem agradeceu e virou-se para a que lhe tinha dado a moeda e disse-lhe, amanhã quando vieres à fonte encontrarás uma rosa vermelha ! Guarda-a junto ao teu coração e encontrarás o amor !
Elas saíram a correr a rir-se enquanto foram para casa, mas as palavras foram fazendo eco durante o resto da tarde e durante a noite.
No dia seguinte, pela mesma hora as duas foram à fonte e lá estava uma rosa vermelha como o sangue, brilhante como um rubi.
Mas quando ia apanhá-la a outra irmã adiantou-se e apanhou a rosa deitando-a à fonte, mas quando o fez a rosa transformou-se num belo peixe vermelho.
Mais uma vez a irmã tentou apanhar o peixe mas na sua ânsia acabou por cair à fonte, mas é nesse momento que surgem dois belos jovens a cavalo e ao depararem-se com a situação rapidamente desmontam e salvam-na.
A irmã toda molhada diz então - Afinal eu tinha razão, fizeste mal em retirar a moeda ! Só nos deu azar !
Diz então a outra com um sorriso na cara - Estás enganada, o meu desejo era que as duas fossemos felizes !
Riram então as duas enquanto os jovens se apresentavam, afinal eram também eles gémeos falsos.
Desde esse dia houve sempre peixes vermelhos na fonte ... o povo diz que são os desejos das duas irmãs !
