This ends the McNabs Island adventure.

I found this site as I got lost when trying to find another place, as lost as you can be on an island. I had to phone to tell the boat I would not be back on time for the pickup, called later and he came.

Part of a old rifle target shooting range used between the 1880s and 1920s., this equipment was used to raise and lower targets up targets, now it is sinking into water.

At the south end of McNabs Island, near Fort McNab, two 800-yard rifle ranges were constructed, one for use by sailors and the other by soldiers who regularly camped on the island.

Younger son of Peter McNab III, born in 1828.

Right: In Memory of Ellen McNab aged 91 years

Miss Ellen McNab (1843-1934) was a daughter of Peter McNab III and his second wife, Anne Elizabeth Wade. She was the last of her family to own land on McNabs Island and the last person to be buried at the family cemetery.

Son of Captain Roderick Hugonin and Harriet McNab (1829-xxxx), younger daughter of James McNab (1792-1871).

Middle: In memory of Mary Ann McNab, died November 4, 1855, aged 49 years

Twin sister of Sophia Louise McNab and younger sister of Peter McNab III (1793-1856).

Right: James John Hugonin, died Feb. 27, 1852, aged 4 months

Older brother of Roderick Hugonin.

Back Middle: Sacred to the memory of Sarah Ann, wife of Lewis H. Jacobs, and only daughter of William D. and Ann Hunter, departed this life 19 August 1846, aged 31 years

Young Charles (1826- 1831) was a son of Peter McNab III.
