I wanted a souvenir from Easter Island, they have many moai made of plastic, wood etc. but I wanted one made from lava. Not big, approx, 6 inches tall.

Montecarmelo Cultural Center is the primary cultural center of the Bellavista district. It was formerly a convent which belonged to the nuns of Santa Teresa Carmelites in the 19th century. Today this beautifully renovated center conducts workshops and classes in photography, art, music and dance.

Off now to catch a plane to the see the main reason I took this trip, the fascinating and remote Easter Island (Rapa Nui). The tour group divided here, some went to Machu Picchu but three of us went to Easter Island. I had been to Machu Picchu before and it is still one of my greatest memories.
