This ferry runs across a 210 meter (700ft) wide entrance to St. Ann's Harbour between Englishtown and Jersey Cove. This Englishtown ferry arrived in Englishtown on July 3, 2008. It is a larger auto ferry than the previous one and has been christened “The Torquil MacLean” in honour of the area’s first ferry operator. Designed and built in Nova Scotia, the $4-million ferry can carry 15 full-size cars per trip (compared to 12 cars per trip on the previous ferry).
