Travel to Prince Edward Island by ferry from Caribou, the lighthouse will be seen on the left shortly after leaving the jetty. The first lighthouse was built in 1868 and was a keeper's dwelling and light tower.

The lighthouse had to be moved back from the shore due to erosion in the first years of operation.

The second lighthouse was built in 1916. This was a square dwelling with an octagonal lantern placed on top. It was moved, lantern removed and is now a private residence.

The third lighthouse that remains here today was constructed in 1971. It features a commonly used design for this time period, a square cement tower positioned in one corner of a one-story building (next page).

In 2018 all that remained was the main tower.
