A view of the Idaho's St. Joe river as it flows thru Chatcolet lake on it's way to Lake Coeur d'Alene.
The river was originally named the "St. Joseph" river by Father Pierre-Jean Desmet, a Catholic priest who established a mission nearby. Commonly known now as the "St. Joe" river.
With a mouth elevation of 2,129 feet (648.9 m), it is the highest navigable river in the world." Wikipedia
I live nearby. I know the river well from it's source high in the Bitterroot Mountains to it's outlet here. Probably my favorite American river (so many choices....).
Friday's here! Enjoy a festive, fun and safe Holiday weekend!
