Noticed this beauty along the bank of a small creek in a local park. It was all alone, close to some exposed tree roots.

I was SO excited when these were noticed during a walk in Clearwater Park on 4th September!!! Maybe five of these gorgeous mushrooms growing together, at different stages. This one was dripping black "ink" beautifully, which of course is what Inky Caps/Shaggy Manes do : ) Our hands were black after moving a few annoying blades of grass. After seeing and photographing these, I could have happily turned around and gone home, as these were more than enough to make my day : )

Oh, and it's pouring with rain AGAIN, LOL!

At least, I am assuming it's a Shaggy Mane. I very rarely put an ID to any fungus, unless I happen to be with someone else who knows a whole lot more than I do, or someone with a lot of knowledge contacts me. It's very easy to get the ID wrong when it comes to fungi, and I try my best not to pass on incorrect information : )

This beauty was one of a group of several, at different stages, growing near the edge of the path at Clearwater Park, off Highway 8 past Westhills Shopping Centre. Seen on September 4th.

It was such a treat to come across a cluster of these spectacular Shaggy Mane mushrooms early in September, when we were on a walk at Clearwater Park.

Reader Rock Garden is not known for its mushrooms, but I'm always happy to come across the very, very occasional one. I seem to remember that it was my daughter who spotted this little cluster of Shaggy Manes on 17 September 2014. Not the most photogenic group, but I wanted to add the photo to a couple of albums, for the record.
