On 8 September 2021, my plan was to drive west of Calgary to visit a forested area. However, shortly after leaving home and driving south on the highway, it looked like the exit I wanted had been blocked off. There is constant highway construction because of the building of the ring road around the city. You never know which roads or lanes have been changed.

So, instead, I turned around and headed back to the city and called in at Sikome, in Fish Creek Park. Only did a very short walk, including chatting with a couple of birders/photographers for quite a while. The only bird I saw and photographed was this duck, which I think is a female Hooded Merganser.
