Happy Earth Day, everyone! Earth Day is April 22 of every year. April 22, 2020 will mark 50 years of Earth Day.
Wednesday, 22 April 2020: our temperature at noon is +12C (windchill +12C). Sunrise is at 6:25 am, and sunset is at 8:44 pm. The morning was overcast, but there are patches of blue sky now.
Like many people, I am having to post photos from my archives as I have been basically staying home all the time, away from everyone and everything (apart from food shopping). However, yesterday, 21 April 2020, I went for a short afternoon drive along my 'usual' roads SW of the city. Then, no doubt, it will be back to archive photos.
I can't add any information about the crisis the whole world is in right now, as Flickr has threatened to terminate my account. This is because I was adding information about the present situation in the descriptions under the photos I am posting from my archives! I still don't understand why this was "wrong" and I have not heard back from Flickr after I sent an Appeal email to them. Will add the descriptions from previously posted photos, taken on the same outings, to remind myself of where I went and what I saw. Stay safe and well, everyone!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day and I decided to get out of the house for a short while, socially distancing myself in my car. Not wanting to go for a long drive, I just drove some of my usual backroads close to home. It felt good to see a few different kinds of birds, including Cedar Waxwings, Crows, a pair of Mallards, a hawk that I think may have been a Northern Harrier, a lone Swan, and a distant pair of Green-winged Teal. A lovely surprise was spotting a Ruffed Grouse on the road, way ahead of me, and I managed to get a few poor quality photos as it was disappearing into the long grass.
Fields were flooded from the melting snow - so much water everywhere. My favourite little wetland is now a large pond.
