Today, I have posted the last couple of photos from my day out with my daughter, on 24 October 2019. Also, I have added a handful of photos taken yesterday, 30 October 2019, when I spent just a few hours SW of the city, travelling 219 km, and took very few shots.
I needed to get out for short while, but didn't want to do a long drive. We had had snow and I wasn't sure if roads would be clear or not. My drive took me as far as Sheep River Provincial Park and I soon discovered that the road through this park had patches of snow on it in places and elsewhere, it was snow-covered. This was the first time this fall that I had actually driven on snow - and I did not enjoy it at all! When we had two major snowstorms, in September and October, I had hibernated for a number of days, waiting for roads to be clear and for the snow and ice to melt off my car.
After seeing a herd of Bighorn Sheep on this drive, I decided enough was enough, and I turned around and headed in the direction of home. The Sheep were being studied by people from the University, so I took a few very quick shots and left the area.
In need of some comfort food after my first snowy drive, I called in at the small cafe/restaurant in Priddis (Jane's Cafe) and got take-out Mustard Soup (delicious!) and a Grilled Cheese & Tomato Sandwich. Both stayed hot enough till I reached home.
