This was little more than an orange smear on a branch in the forest at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park on 14th August. Though it was too late to catch these little guys still upright on their little white stalks, I guess I did catch them "sliming", LOL. A supermacro shot, needless to say, that leaves a bit to be desired as far as clarity : ) Loved the vibrant colours, though. Thanks, as always, Doug, for finding this slime mold (and many other things!). Without your expertise, I would never see things like this.

Puffballs are one of my favourite fungi - love their roundness and the various patterns on them. This cluster was growing on 23rd August last year at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park.

I LOVE it when someone has "picked" a mushroom - then I can photograph it without any guilt : ) Went with a handful of friends to Brown-Lowery Provincial Park on 14th August and we came across a wonderful display of these gorgeous, vibrant fungi. As the name implies, this fungus is poisonous.

Thanks, Doug, for explaining that this is, in fact, a Lichen (Lichenomphallia ericetorum), not a mushroom. It just looks like a mushroom : ) These are only very small and were growing on a rotting log at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park yesterday.

Doug, I do hope you don't mind if I use the information that you included with one of your photo (thanks):

"Lichenomphallia is a genus of lichenized Basidomycetes or club fungi which has spores produced on club-shaped basidia. The lichen fungus resembles a mushroom and the algae are concentrated in special tissues or lobes at the base of the fruiting body. This plant is found in both books on Lichens and books on Mushrooms as Omphalina."

You just have to love it when the sun can pierce the canopy of the forest and shine down on a beautiful mushroom : ) Feels like a little parasol, protecting whatever happens to be growing beneath its colourful gills. Found growing at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park on 25th September.
