I assume that the Anhinga took its cue from the young Brown Pelican and did fly away because the Pelican held its ground. The Anhingas are not the most approachable bird on the bayou, so to get one to stick around like this is a nice treat. Same time and same place, but just a bit farther down the sagging tree perched the Anhinga which was willing to do a bit of posing as well. Old Friend adds its features and texture to this scene. Our tour guide leads the way up the stone streets. Without her, we got lost in this city’s narrow, multi-directional streets and passageways. During our free time in Toledo, we tried to find the Muslim Mosque, but were never able to find it before our time ran out. Even after running into our tour guide midway through our search and getting new directions. Hahaha… Oh well, we still had a great time in this city. It will be a reason to return.
