Aurora imaged last night from the backyard. What an amazing sight - the sky was alive!!

Despite the ever present domestic light pollution the intense riot of colours from last night's auroral display came through in trumps!!

I was out to do some planetary imaging of Jupiter and Saturn when this kicked off....needless to say planetary imaging was on the back burner for a while...lol!

This Hippo (Hippopotamus) was returning to the water early morning, was suddenly attacked by a lioness and got some scrapes and minor wounds but was able to run away and get to the water.
