We were hustling to get here in time, & were afraid we weren't going to make it, but when we arrived we could tell that the water wasn't rising at all, so we were pretty sure we hadn't missed it. And indeed, a friendly local resident saw our car pull into the park from which the bore can be viewed & came over to give us the scoop. He said that on the basis of the previous day's time it would be about 10' later than the nominal published time (it can vary by up to 20' either way). He also had photos to show us; apparently he makes a bit of a hobby of being the site's self-appointed interpreter.

The breaking wave largely disappears coming around the bend as a result of the local topography, but it rears back up as it gets closer.
