The iridescent blue was just incredible.
Among the 4 major taxonomic authorities, there are now 3 different taxon names for this bird (the Blue-diademed Motmot/Lesson's Motmot of central Central America): Momotus lessonii lessonii, Momotus coeruliceps lessonii, & Momotus momota lessonii. Take your pick!

Either that or one very confused turtle! I swear I'm not making this up. (These are captive animals in a large pond at a biodiversity center. Who knows, maybe they're friends!)
