Pressure-differential vortex contrail coming off the wing of a Boeing 777-200 during the sharp attack of our initial climb. It depended on the exact airflow and flickered in & out, usually disappearing too fast for my shutter finger, but I caught it in a couple of shots.

I think these are considered part of the Maritime Alps; at any rate, mountains a short distance from the coast, on the French side. Geotag is not exact, but should be correct within a few km.

We made the mistake of flying through Rome on Al Italia. We were shunted into a transit lounge that was like something out of the developing world -- no seating, no services. And they lost our checked luggage; didn't get it back for days. Got a nice picture out if it, though! Check out the circular ripples spreading from the breaks in the jetties.
