Previously I posted an image of a maurine iguana from the Galapogos Islands. This is the Land Iguana. I was amazed at how mythical and dragon-like it was! From it's scales, spiky crest, long tail, and clawed feet, it looked so fierce! I worried he'd breath out fire if I got to close! Fortunately he was very tender in his disposition as he slowly pivoted around searching for greens to eat with his little friend. Stay tuned for an image of that soon.

This beautiful and vibrant Galapagos crab was fascinating to watch, and easy to spot, as he crawled along the dark rocks along the beach in the Galápagos Islands.

I've still got loads of pictures to go through, but am working so much these days, that I don't seem to have much time to get to my fun pictures. Galapagos Sea Lions love to hang out along the beaches and shallow accesses to the ocean. This little one opened his eye for one brief click of my camera before nodding back to sleep.

While taking some shots of people snorkeling in the ocean, this little family climbed up on the rocks near me for a little playtime. I got to watch them up close and personal. I felt like part of the family! Just call me ‘Auntie Nita’! Image taken from my iPhone.
