For the fourth time in my life, I had the privilege to feel the power and the beauty of a Birth. The miracle of Life.

Mission São Tomé, day 06: Mother-Child. I can't imagine strongest human liasion than this one. I know because I saw the birth of my four kids. I was there. Mirace of Life x 4. Yes, I was there when they saw their Mother for the first time.
Photographed this young African Mother and her daughter on the former hospital of roça Agostinho Neto, the biggest plantation on the island.
By the 1900s, São Tomé was simply the world’s largest cacao producer. When the country gained its independence in 1975, many of the colonial plantations were abandoned and invaded by the locals. This one was a real city in its glory days
