I guess I thought there would be bear around every corner in Canada. While that was not near the case, we found one that posed nicely for us.

Just back from a wonderful trip to Washington and Wyoming. However this was an incredible moment followed by sadness. Just hours after I took this picture of an incredible 3 yr old bear he was killed by a boar who wanted to mate with his mother. Even though he wasn't with his mother any longer he was still to close. Boars will attack any other male bears that are to close to the female they want to mate with.
So this weekend as we remember those who lost their life for us to have freedom, let us not forget how precious life is and hold tight the ones we love, and enjoy every minute!

I am sure many of you have heard about the grizzly that took down a big bull elk last month in Yellowstone. Well I missed the take down but the morning I did get their this bear had just taken over. He was not letting anything get his prize. Here he is lying on the carcass all we can see are the antlers. The original bear was still in the shadows and came out once but didn't challenge him while I was there. Every time the other bear came near this bear would bury the carcass with even more dirt.

This mother and her two cubs were the highlight of my year. I have never seen a mother grizzly and her COY (cubs of the year) before.
