Spent the last few days in Louisiana with some family. Had a nice time. It was a bit to hot and humid though. My favorite thing was Oak Alley Plantation. Even with the rain (I took this under an umbrella) it was beautiful.
Built in 1837-39 by Jacques Roman. It is most famous for its row of 28 evenly spaced live oak trees which I read are believed to be 100 years older then the "Big House".
Great to be back if only for a short time. Only 1 more week until Alaska. Missed you all and will catch up with all of you ASAP.

Think I am in the mood for spring as I keep gravitating toward those type pictures.. This was taken at the Houmas House Plantation just outside of Baton Rouge Louisiana. The plantation house was built in 1840.Upon its completion, Houmas House was the Crown Jewel of Louisiana's River Road. This was a sugar plantation. It is a beautiful place to visit. The grounds and the house are amazing.
