The beautiful Høyvika, a beach on the island of Andøya in Northern Norway, at sunset.

I had been planning this shot for quite some time. On my first attempt, a storm unexpectedly hit the coast, forcing me to retreat.

Last year, I finally managed to have good conditions throughout the hike, and waited for the sun to set at this particular viewpoint.

One of the many stunning views along the hiking trail between Silvaplana and Maloja.

Probably one of the most scenic autumn Hikes in Switzerland. when the larches and the other flora turn golden, it's almost like a whole different world.

First of all, I wish everyone a great end to 2024 and an even better start of 2025!

This is a photo from my favorite 2024 hike - and it is of course Iceland, Landmannalaugar to be precise.

A place where the colors of the Rhyolite mountains are just insanely beautiful. Also one of those places where you'd likely ask yourself if this is a real place on earth - luckily it is.

For someone who almost exclusively hikes solo, being alone in such places is almost like a mystical experience. The silence and that view were worth the trip to Iceland by themselves.

Getting to this particular viewpoint requires wading the very cold Jokulgilskvisl River and, generally speaking, it's a tough hike. But it's well worth the effort.

A beautiful Canyon in the southern part of the Icelandic Highlands.

Markarfljótsgljúfur is about 200m deep and 4 km long. The hike is easy, though getting there requires a bit of a rough drive on Road f261.

The mountain in the background is the beautiful Hattfell.
