Taken for 'Saturday self Challenge': "Vanishing Point"
This is a section of local railway track which is known as, or at least was known as, 'the racing section' it's a 15 mile long section of rail between Farnborough and Basingstoke, it's all but dead straight and flat. In the '50s and '60s the steam locomotive drivers used to try and get their trains to top 100mph along here, the earliest 'ton up' is thought to have been in the 1900s, by a special track surveying locomotive pulling no carriages, must have been quite a ride.
